Hello and welcome to the Picasso classroom! Our program will allow your child to explore their world
through many new learning experiences and will focus on developing their self-esteem and independence in a structured social
setting. The children in our class will be given the opportunity to develop at their own pace and are offered encouragement
and support in trying new things. Our program will provide an enthusiastic, nurturing environment in which your child can
grow, learn, and have lots of fun.

As infants grow into toddlers, they are busy learning new things about themselves and the world around
them. In addition to introducing your toddler to plenty of songs, books and art projects, our teachers let the children lead
the way, while responding to their interests in stories, songs, and play to help them grow and learn with confidence.
Young Scholars Picasso classroom encompasses all developmental areas, providing your child with daily activities that specifically
focus on developing emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
Miss Courtney Miss Courtney started at Young
Scholars in October 2009. She says, "I am very happy to be working with your children at Young Scholars.
I am very grateful for this opportunity to expand my work experience with young children." Courtney graduated
from college with a degree in sociology and is now working on a Master's Degree in Human Services. She has a lot
of experience working with children and has worked in many child care centers. In her spare time Courtney likes
to read and care for her 4 younger siblings. Courtney is eager and excited to work with your children!
MISS KRISTIN Miss Kristin has worked in all the younger classrooms here at Young Scholars
and does a wonderful job. She has volunteered at Cotton Creek Grade School and is a reliable provider for families outside
of our facility. She is currently enrolled at the College of Lake County where she is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood
Education. She enjoys reading, shopping and listening to music. When she is not doing one of these fun hobbies
she is spending time with her family which consists of her mom and dad and three brothers and four sisters and three dogs.
What she enjoys most about Young Scholars is, "the children and everyone I work with and the opportunity to educate myself
in early childhood education!"

Learning to use large motor skills and a huge focus. Our students in this classroom learn to
drink from a cup, use a spork to eat with as well as using their "words" and not gestures to communicate. It is
quite common for our toddlers in this room to be toilet trained by the time they reach the two-year old room. Although
we never force a toddler to use the toilet we certainly take the time to encourage them if they show interest.
Teaching togetherness is one of many manners taught at the center even
at such young ages!!
Miss Nicole Hi! My name is Nicole. I am working on a Bachelor's Degree in
Elementary Education. Formerly, I worked at Circuit City and I am looking forward to aquiring more experience with students,
here at Young Scholars Child Care Center. I live just north of Island Lake in Grayslake. When I am not working
here, I am busy taking care of my puppies, Lily and Charley. I also keep busy by attending classes at the College of
Lake County and Kendall College. Miss Nicole is a true asset to Young Scholars and brings many new ideas and an energetic personality which
the kids adore!!
