Kora Smith, the Owner, Director of Finance, and Registered Nurse.  Prior to creating Young Scholars Child Care Center, Kora researched and studied hundreds of early learning centers in northern Illinois. She has studied select centers that have made lasting impressions and satisfied clients nationwide. With this valuable information, Kora developed a child care center that sets us apart from all the others.  Kora offers a unique setting for children as well as a unique preschool program that is different from any other preschool program.  With many great business opportunities and time, Kora will create many services to better serve the clients of Young Scholars.

Deby Dato, the Director of Operations, is a well-known member in our community. She serves as Vice President of The Board of Education for District 118 and her husband is the Chief of the Wauconda Fire Department. Deby worked for 15 years at Good Shepherd Hospital in Emergency Medicine, Nursing Administration and Administration and 10 years in General Surgery prior to taking this position in early 2001. Miss Deby continues taking classes at CLC in Early Childhood Educaton to achieve her Type 04 teaching certificate.  She finds working with children to be gratifying. 

Sara Bialachowski, the Regional Director, is an asset to our centers. Her knowledge of preschool curriculum and child development helps Young Scholars to develop a program that is both nurturing to children as well as stimulating.  She continues her education in college and keeps our center informed with research on brain-development and the latest programs to educate children. Sara is a motivated young woman. She has been employed with our center since 1997.

Kristen Mitsch, the Director of Education, has been with Young Scholars since 2001.  She started as a toddler teacher's assistant and has worked her way through school and through our company to a director's position!  Miss Kristen has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and her Infants and Toddlers Specialist Certificate.  Miss Kristen brings a lot of insight to our management team with great understanding for teachers and the challenges face.
