As infants grow into toddlers, they are busy learning new things about themselves and the world around
them. In addition to introducing your toddler to plenty of songs, books and art projects, our teachers let the children lead
the way, while responding to their interests in stories, songs, and play to help them grow and learn with confidence.
Young Scholars Picasso classroom encompasses all developmental areas, providing your child with daily activities that specifically
focus on developing emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.

Learning to use large motor skills and a huge focus. Our students in this classroom learn to
drink from a cup, use a spork to eat with as well as using their "words" and not gestures to communicate. It is
quite common for our toddlers in this room to be toilet trained by the time they reach the two-year old room. Although
we never force a toddler to use the toilet we certainly take the time to encourage them if they show interest.

~Miss Megan~
Hello! I'm Megan Petersen. I have been working at this child care center since
2007 and enjoy it very much! I work in all the classrooms and have gotten to know all the children very well.
When I am not working I go to school at the College of Lake County in Grayslake. I am working on my teaching degree!
I would love to teach 1st or 2nd grade. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, playing games,
and making my own greeting cards. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
