Our Before & After School program focuses on developing good homework habits, encouraging gross motor skills through games and sports, and showing respect for others.  Children are given and afternoon snack and juice as well as time to complete homework, participate in games and activities, or to just relax after a challenging day at school.

Miss Lynn
Miss Lynn is an easy going person who enjoys working with children.  She has attended Triton College for just over 2 1/2 years working toward general studies.  She has worked in the financial and banking industry for fourteen years.  She is married to a wonderful man named, Scott they have been married since 1994 and they have two children, Erik and Jessica.  Miss Lynn spends her free time with her family, playing games, bicycle riding, putting puzzles together, reading, and arts & crafts.

Miss Michelle

Miss Michelle graduated in 1998, from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  After college, she joined the Peace Corps where she taught English to 500 students in Slovakia for two years.  Since then she has worked in the public schools in a variety of programs such as Special Ed, ESL (English as a Second Language), and Reading Recovery.  On a personal note, she has been married for three years and lives in McHenry.  She enjoys traveling, watching movies, and eating at Greek and Italian restaurants.

1st day of school!

The teachers in this room pack a wide range of activities into each and everyday, giving the opportunity for many different experiences.  The teacher qualified staff in the Galileo Classroom are not afraid of a little mess!  The children enjoy the involved art projects and science experiments!

Miss Amy
Miss Amy is a teacher in our Galileo classroom.  She attended Eastern Illinois University for four years and graduated in the spring of 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education.  She grew up in Wauconda, went to Eastern and then moved back to the area after graduating.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking her dog and playing volleyball.

Our center also participates in building community, we are proud to have raised $207,000 for the Converse Park Playground in Island Lake in 2004.
